Ezicover Needlestick Cover Plus
The Product
- Pays a lump sum in the case of accidental infection with HIV, Hepatitis B or Hepatitis C whilst working in recognised high risk occupations.
- Available for high risk occupations such as doctors, nurses, police, ambulance drivers, paramedics, pathologists and dentists.
- Financial security against accidents including needlestick injuries, cuts, inhalation of blood or bone dust and saliva infection.
Benefits
- available for those aged 19–65 years
- renewable to age 75 as long as premiums are paid when due
- choice of cover between $50,000 and $400,000
- only available for approved exposure prone occupations
- no complicated application forms to complete.
Exclusions
A benefit will not be payable if:
- HIV, Hepatitis B or Hepatitis C is contracted by any other means.
- a medical cure is found for Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS), or the effects of the HIV virus, Hepatitis B or Hepatitis C, or in the event of a treatment being developed and approved which makes these viruses inactive and non-infectious.
- you have AIDS or any AIDS related disorder or a positive blood test for the HIV antibody within six months of the start date of the cover, any increase in the cover (but only in respect of the increase) or the latest reinstatement of the cover unless you are able to provide evidence, in the form of sequence analysis of the source and index virus strains, satisfactory to us that the accident involved the definitive source of the virus.
